This project consisted of a large scale major internal refurbishment works consisting new steelwork framing on six floors and new plant steel framing on the roof. Due to the number of steel elements at one connection, as well as offsets between some of the steel members, the 3D design software, Idea Statica was used for the connection designs. This enabled very clear visuals of how all the steel members and connecting members would interact with each other, and to also ensure it was feasible to construct. A 2D design software was also used for the simpler connections.
