Scope: This project involved steel connection designs for the new steel-framed balconies at Capitol House.
Challenge:
The project involved the design of simple, non-standard and complex connection joints. Tight programme constraints required efficient coordination and designs that were immediately buildable.
Solution:
2D software for simpler joints and IDEA StatiCa for 3D visualisation of multi-member nodes and optimised and cost-effective solutions. This ensured efficiency in time and costs.
Outcome:
Our reliabity remained proven with speedy delivery of the design solutions, which were issued within a week of instruction, enabled the fabricator to maintain their production schedule without delays. The detailed 3D visuals reduced uncertainty during erection and improved coordination on site, helping the contractor achieve a smooth installation process.
